Hello there!

My name is Mackenzie and I have a love for words. I find beauty amongst them and the ways a single sentence can just take your breath away or move you to tears. I have been blogging off and on for over a decade but felt like it was time to spread my wings and go deeper in my writings, so here I am on Substack!

I have packed quite a bit of life in my decades here on this earth and feel that I have words within in me that need to be shared. My path in life has been random at times, beholden to forces within my control and at times without. I have been through the peaks and the valleys, and I want to share what I have learned. I hope to be an encouragement to those who are empathetic in nature like me.

A little bit about me: I am an American writer dreaming of travels overseas. I am a huge bookworm and my TBR pile is always winning. Coffee is my favorite thing ever (followed rather closely by tea), and that, coupled with a really good book, is my idea of a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I am a mother of two, a lover of a good British mystery, and a dreamer who believes that all things are possible. I am happiest amongst trees or in a bookshop, dancing in the liminal space between the leaves and the written word.
