I didn't like my name growing up either Mackenzie! My name was mistaken for a boy's name when I was born and I have cards my mother kept congratulating my parents on the safe arrival of their son! I didn't meet another Jodie, Jodi, Jody, Jodee (all the different spellings) until highschool. It certainly seemed to me to not be a very popular name. After high school I met one other Jodi at university. To save confusion as we shared many classes together I decided I'd be Jo. I quite liked being called Jo as it remined me of the character Jo from Little Women who I adored. Also I could never imagine myself as an 'older' Jodie but when I met my first Jodie over the age of 50 when I was about 30 I thought okay so there you are, older Jodies exist in the world. Now at age nearly 52 I'm all good with my name. I've even learned to let go of correcting people when they mispell it. Now that was a real bug bear for a long time! :)

That is so interesting that you didn’t like your name either growing up!

When I was younger, it bothered me so much when people misspelled my name, but like you said, I too have let go of correcting someone about it. I think years of having my name misspelled on many a Starbucks order have cured me of that 😂
