Good advice. Busy families can certainly benefit from these suggestions, but even elderly couples who live away from the kids can remake their celebrations to share just between the two of them. Stop moaning because the kids and the grands are far away, the old party traditions have changed or become irrelevant, or the energy to face former obligatory activities just isn't there to support you. It's a good time to rekindle that dating years time when it was just the two of you. Make a special dinner or choose a favorite restaurant for a dinner for two. Realize just how restful and wonderful those formerly hectic weekend mornings are now that there is peace in the house. It's not lonesome. It's a relief.
This is a gorgeous list and beautiful way to think about December. Right now we are immersed in the depths of winter illnesses in our house and it has been rough! Thank you for these beautiful reminders to go slow, so much needed right now xx
In Germany we have a very special advent tradition. It's called Adventskranz (might exist in other countries too), which refers to a wreath or a candle holder that fits four candles. You can also simply put out four single candles. Each Sunday before Christmas Eve (which is the main Christmas event here in Germany) you light a new candle. So on the first Sunday you light the first candle, on the second weekend you light the first and second candle...and so fort.
A great way to celebrate advent without having to participate in buying or making an advent calendar!
Oh, I love this Katharina! I’ve hadn’t heard of Adventskranz before but it sounds so lovely and a wonderful thing to do each Sunday before Christmas Eve. Thank you for sharing! ♥️
This was a delightful read. Thank you for sharing this important reminder. ❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you for being here 🌸

Puzzles are fun, aren’t they? 🥳

Absolutely Sue! The holidays change as the years go by and we have to change right along with it. Hope you are having a lovely week! 💗
You too McKenzie. We have the yearly plague, but this too will pass and we'll enjoy the season nonetheless.
🥰
Christmas Story never gets old! Great movie 😉
It really is the best! 😁

Ah, puzzles! That’s what’s been missing this year. Lovely list.
Thank you so much, Rachel! 😊
