Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. It has been a minute, hasn’t it? When we last spoke, it was a few weeks before Christmas and the celebratory season was well under way.
A lot has happened since then.
My intention was to take the rest of December off from Substack and come back at some point in January, ready to share some encouraging words to start off the new year for all of you here.
But here’s what actually happened…
Sometime after sharing my last post of the year with you all, I had many health issues pop up all at once which left me struggling both physically and mentally. These issues persisted into January one of which culminated in a surgery that I am still recovering from. All of this has given me terrible anxiety which to be honest, I am still trying to get a handle on as I continue to grapple with and try to find answers to various health related questions that need answering.
All this to say, I have not been in the right head space to be writing here at The Lovely Road, which I hope you understand. I do miss interacting and having conversations with you all.
But the truth of the matter is that I still need time.
I wanted to let you all know what was going on and why I haven’t written and to also say, I hope to be back in this space sooner rather than later, but I honestly don’t know when that will be.
I wish all of you a happy February and hope you are enjoying this last full month of winter.
Take care.
xx Mackenzie
I'm glad you're taking care of yourself, Mackenzie. Take all the time you need!
So sorry to hear that health issues have slammed you down. It's been one of those years. We've been struggling with "the latest bug" since November and are finally able to declared ourselves well. I hope you will soon be able to say the same and remain so for a long time. Take care, dear writerly friend.
