Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well 😊
If you are new to this space, welcome! Saturday Loves is a series here on The Lovely Road where I will share other writers' Substack newsletters that I recently read and enjoyed and give them a creative "shout-out" as well as sharing what I have been interested in on a personal level outside of Substack.
In my offline world...

Nature. I am so happy it is spring, and the flowers are blooming, and everyone is basking in the sun, even the turtles. Some photos from my recent walks:
What I've been reading:
The Confidence Gap: A Guide to Overcoming Fear and Self-Doubt by Russ Harris. This book was recommended on a podcast episode I listened to last year and it had been on my TBR forever, and it felt like it was time to finally give it a read. (I am very much an "in the mood" kind of reader when it comes to non-fiction. I have to be ready to read it, if that makes sense. I finally was ready! 😊) I found it quite compelling, and I liked the fact that they presented the feeling of fear as a normal feeling and that it is okay to feel the fear. But it is what you do with that feeling of fear, that counts. I found this particular bit interesting:
"The biggest cost of all is that the more we avoid our own fear, the bigger it grows and the more influence it has over our actions. We get stuck in the fear trap: the greater our efforts to get rid of fear, the greater our fear becomes, and the more negatively it affects our lives".
